BWPL will achieve an exciting and historic landmark when Sky TV screens action from men’s and women’s Super 5s matches at Manchester Aquatics Centre!

The fixtures on 21 and 22 January are to be filmed for Sky and broadcast in an edited “Match of the Day” type programme on a number of occasions shortly afterwards. It will be the first time for many years that club games in the UK have been televised – a fantastic coup for the league and the result of many months’ negotiations by BWPL officials.

David Sparkes, British Swimming and ASA Chief Executive, comments: “With the British water polo team returning to the Olympic Games for the first time since 1956, I am delighted that through the hard work of the British Water Polo League we will see the game that we invented showcased on Sky TV – and with some of the best clubs in the land battling it out to be crowned league champions.”
